SEO Status After Hummingbird Update

No fears, the world hasn’t fallen apart; besides, SEO isn’t dead yet, while current press report may claim that the ‘Hummingbird’ represents the “largest update to Google’s search algorithm” till now. But search engine optimization process will not be hampered by this gross algorithm update as long as the content is relevant, unique and original and SEO techniques have not been shrouded by black, red, grey or any other top hat techniques.

Small-Business-Local-SEOServices“Do I have to change everything, post Hummingbird inquires an anxious SEO pro, to which a generic response will be in the negative. In fact, Google’s saying there’s nothing new or different SEO or publishers need to worry about (in regard to humming bird update). Guidance remains the same, it says: have original, high-quality content. Signals that have been important in the past remain important; Hummingbird just allows Google to process them in new and hopefully better ways.

Nevertheless, the key to making the right decisions about online SEO is to follow where Google is going. Google’s goal is that when someone creates a new search, what Google wants to show that person is exactly what the person wants or needs. We’ve all had the experience of searching on Google and seeing websites come up that obviously aren’t what we were looking for. We don’t even need to click on the link to figure that out, because what Google shows us is enough. When this happens to me I think “Good heavens, why in the world would Google think that’s what I wanted when I typed in those words?” Google wants to get to the point where I never think that again. In other words, the perspective here is the motivation, not the bare keyword.

So, you see, there is no reason why you should invite a panic attack when Google merely wants to improve your search results. To be honest about it, Have you seen any impact to your website as a result of Hummingbird update? Do you feel that the update comprises deadly terms for your site? Nope! Then why are worrying unnecessarily? Keep up your spirits and carry on the optimization process as before. Just try to be on the right track and everything will be fine.

Update: After contacting Google’s press department it was found that Google has been running Hummingbird “for a few months,” not just since last month. The press department also reiterated their guidance for those doing SEO, “Our guidance to webmasters is the same as always — we encourage original, high-quality content, since that’s what’s best for web users.”
